Beating Addcition to Weed And Love of Highs..
Posted: 02-04-07 10:49am

I have been smoking marijuana atleast 3 joints a day ever since I began smoking in 1998. I have only managed to quit it for a period of 6 months under the pretense of a new beginning in canada.

I'm 27 years old now, I have reduced my progress in career and family etc by 50% in the last 7 years. Well, in the beginning it was great to smoke a joint and get high nd chill out. The problem for me is that the more stressed out I feel the more weed I smoke. Even if I have to borrow the money against my wishes from someone I love. I feel like the i'm hooked on crack or cocaine. Exactly, it was weed and as everyone says it not harmless. In my case it was for fun and moments of boredom but very quickly its the only thing you think of when your bored or not feeling so great Laughing Twisted Evil I am so pissed with my self I could go to war in iraq if someone gave me the chance.I am gettin cheap with my friends cause I sometimes by weed on credit and guys that I usually wouldnt even talk are thinking bad of me cause I smoke so much weed all the time.I aint so bad, I am a tough and talented guy who feels like a slave to this freaking plant.I need to getaway from here....Any ideas

Well, you're not alone.

You've got to hit a dead end until you becoming willing to try anything to stop. And that's when you are open enough to understand that your spirit is calling out for something more.

Addiction is primarily a spiritual and emotional disorder. We cling to highs because it's the only thing that feels good, and we're not ready to take life for what it is. Sometimes, the weather's just crappy. It's not all sunshine. So...

If you're ready check our ma, marijuana anonymous. They'll teach you how to start over and put the stuff behind you. It's one day at a time. Good luck! And give an update.

The problem for most people who use any substance to escape is that they use it to mask feeelings rather than looking deeper into the reasons why we suffer. I used Cannabis to cure addiction...And Im cured. Anything used for the wrong reason can create dependency. The Flower of thr cannabis plant has been used for spiritual reasons for thousands of years. Perhaps if we begin to educate ourselves first before w etry something we might benefit from these mediums to enlightenment. It you are getting "high" on THC and do not know you are in a hightened state of awareness you probably weren't able to use that time constructively. I use it to focus on Guitar, writing, really deep movies ect. to excersise my brain. The lack of our brains use IS the reason behind most addiction. WE are being dumbed down by technology IE. Media's or Mediums (Tools) which lessen our ablity to understand out emotions. I have written extensively on the subject and have expanded my ability to think and reason logic, something that Society is stripping away from the individual.. I will never stop smoking it due to its power to keep me this side of the matrix of society. wayland Porter cured

Hey gavin,

First of all id like to say you have noticed that u have got an addiction and that is the first step of the process is identifying and accepting that yes i do have an addiction and yes i do want to stop. I think going to a drug counsellor would be a good idea, as they can give u strategies to put in place to help you beat the addiction. As for the physcological side of the feelings it may be best to consult a physcologist or even your general practioner to see what they can do to make u feel like ur addiction isnt generally based on your feelings and what not,

All the best mate hope it goes well and congratulations on admitting your addiction Smile

I agree...under all of the layers of addiction are feelings and behaviors that become repetitive and can be investigated...and changed!

Yes, Gavin. And you don't have to do it alone. The internal battle is yours, but there are many who have walked the path before you!

I too agree with the above posts and also most that enjoy the highs are trying to ascape reality somehow. Now what in your life is stressing you out or really deppressing you?
