Q: Am I Pregnant? : sleepy, nauseous, sluggish...
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 4th, 2007
We have been trying for a baby. we had sex 1 day before this painful ovulation window that lasted for about 2-3 days. Soon after the intercourse, around 1-2 days later I felt very sluggish and nasueas still feeling this pain. Do you think we have acheived our goals? I hope so. I have been really sleepy. This has never happen to me before.

Pregnancy Answer A2316
Ovulation sometimes be experience as a lower abdominal pain but in most cases, it can’t be felt. You can predict ovulation with an ovulation predictor kit and by measuring the body temperature. One act of sexual intercourse during the fertile days of your cycle (days around the ovulation) is usually not enough to achieve pregnancy. You should have sex as much as possible (a few times per day) in order to increase your chances of pregnancy. Sluggish, nauseous feeling and sleepiness are not evidence that you’ve “achieved your goal”. You will have to wait until you miss your period, a pregnancy test reads positive, and you confirm the presence of a fetus with an ultrasound before you can celebrate conception.
