Addicted to porn?...can't get hard w/o it Posted: 02-04-07 16:30pm
I would really appreciate getting some
advice regarding a problem I've been
facing for a couple years now. I've been
masturbating while watching porn. I had
excessive masturbation too but I don't
think it's my problem because by
experimenting I am pretty sure all my
problem comes from porn.
As I am writing this, I just came back
from my girlfriend's place where for the
2nd night in a row I was incapable of
getting an erection. As I read some stuff
about porn addiction and how the mind
"programs" itself to only get arousal from
pornography, I did a little experiment. I
tried masturbating while thinking about my
girlfriend or even some of my ex's. I only
had a partial erection, which didn't even
last. Next step was opening a porn
website. I didn't even need to touch
myself to get a full erection which I
managed to sustain for more than 5 minutes
after which I just closed the website.
I am desperate... I haven't masturbated
for a week now nor watched porn. What is
the solution...?

According to your symptoms of impotency,
it seems likely that you are more
attracted to porn-stars than to your
girlfriend. This may be why you don’t
experience erectile dysfunction while
looking at porn and have erectile
dysfunction during sex with your
girlfriend. I propose you to try an
experiment: Invite your girlfriend to
watch the porn together with you. Try to
have sex with her at the same time. Many
couples experience visual stimulation
together and can enjoy sex like this. If
you are disturbed that you need visual
stimulation for sexual arousal, you might
consult a mental health professional like
a psychologist or sexologist to explore
this more deeply.
