Expired Aldara
Posted: 02-04-07 18:17pm

Sorry, I didn't know exactly where to post this, so hopefully this is ok

i think, but not sure, I am having a hpv break out again... I was diagnosed at the beginning of 2004 and haven't seen a sign of the warts until just the other day... I'm getting little white bumps Confused

Anyways... I have some left over aldara cream from when I was first diagnosed (which worked awesome for me) - and the expiration on the box says jun 2006. I plan on going to the doctor this week or whenever I can get in - but I don't have insurance so i'm hoping the expired cream will still work because I really can't afford new medicine?

So, is it ok to use expired aldara? Can anyone help me with this?

I was told by my aunt who is professor of chemistry and has a degree in pharmacology, as long as a medication has not changed color or form, it is still useable within a year or two. It just a way for pharmaceuticals to stay in business. I have used this expired aldara for several (mainly plantar warts), and had remarkable results! This should be fine until you can obtain a new presc! Hope this hepls!

thanks that helps... The cream still looks normal... I just wanted to make sure that even though it says expired it will still have the same power as it did when I first bought it a few years ago...

I think next I need to work on my immune system so I don't keep getting future outbreaks... *hopes*

thanks for the help Wink
