I am 38weeks pregnant today. I've been constipated for about two weeks. Not completely but mostly. I did what my dr said and took the softner and the milk of mag and nothing!!! It really hurts and my great aunt told me to use an enema but I think I read somewhere that it may induce labor. Also I would call my dr office again but all they ever tell me is if I start bleeding go to the er. They are no help unless I get lucky and a good nurse actually answers. Please help!! Thanks!

no you shouldnt use one. You need a prescription laxative called miralax. Call the office and ask for the nurse.

I honestly don't know if enemas are safe that late in pregnancy or not but I can tell you that I think it would be very, very, very uncomfortable.
