Is My Pre Ovulation Temp Too High? Help!
Posted: 02-05-07 15:17pm

Hi folks
i need some advice. My pre ovulation temps are around 98.0-98.3, and then once I ovulate they are 98.6-98.7. This seems high to me...And when I look at other people's charts they have temps around 97~
does anybody else have temps like me?
Here is my chart
http://www.Fertilityfr iend.Com/home/8afa7
any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Dprssd- I think it is the pattern that matters, not the level of the temperature. One thing that ff lets you do is search for other charts like yours. If you do this, you'll see that there are others with pre-o temps similar to yours. Smile in fact, I just did a search for charts with pre-o temps of 98.3 and came up with a bunch of charts.

Thanks shortgeek - that makes me feel waaaay better.
I can't see those charts unless I signup for vip status. I guess I should just bite the bullet and get a membership. I had hoped i'd be pregnant by now.
Thank you!

Thanks volaremos.
I have my 1st appointment at the fertility specialist tomorrow. I'm very excited. I'm going to ask them about my temps. We have been ttc for 19mths, i'm 38 yrs old, dh is 33. None of the many tests i've had over the past year revealed any reason for not conceiving. So I think we are going to try the iui route. We'll see what the re says. I'm on cd 5, so I hope we can try this cycle.
Wish me luck. I hope this is the year!

Dr's Visit
Posted: 02-18-07 11:51am

Thanks shortgeek
let me tell you about the dr's visit. Some good...And some bad.
She said given my age: 38, and the endometriosis, my chances of conceiving each month are around 5%. Not great. But, I had an ultrasound and she said some of her clients would kill to have my ovaries (hee hee) and she saw 16 healthy follicles waiting. So i'm not running out of eggs anytime soon. She is basically reccomending iui with clomid. Unfortunately we can't do iui this cycle because they have to do a bunch of blood tests first and we won't get the test results back before I o. We are going to be in mexico on holiday for the march cylcle when I o...So we have to wait until april to try our first iui. Oh well. I've waited 19 months, I guess I can wait a few more. We'll keep trying in the meantime.
So that was the visit. It was very clinical, very little emotional support. But at least I got the facts.
Thanks for your support. I was sitting with my girlfriends yesterday after our regular saturday morning run and they asked me how the appt went, and one was basically interested in everything else going on in the coffee shop rather then hearing my results. It really upset me. She already has a baby and gets impatient if I ever mention my challenges with fertility. It really hurts to have someone you care about be so insensitive and dismissive. I appreciate having this board to vent. I know all of you girls would never be dismissive.

Oh, and by the way...She said my chart looked great, and it didn't matter how high my temps were, if I had the pattern-i was ovulating Smile pheuff
thank you!!

I'm glad the dr's appt was positive.

My husband and I aren't telling people that we are ttc, so this board is my only outlet other than him. I wish I could talk to people sometime about it. Particularly when I get af, because I'm usually so hormonal that I feel very distracted and guarded. This forum is a great outlet for support.

Your friend might be interested in your troubles but feel uncomfortable or guilty about it, especially if she conceived right away. In other words, if your having trouble with something that wasn't a problem for her, she might not know how to support you or might feel guilty because she didn't have a problem. I imagine that if it took her a year or so or if she did iui, she would be more connected to the topic.

hi! i pretty much agree with shortgeek about your friend. i also found that people who didn't have any problems really just don't understand how it feels. for me they always came back with oh you are fine, or it takes time, or it will happen when it is time. i would get so frustrated and just want to yell and say why can't you just listen to me!!! but they don't know any better and don't know how to make you feel better and probably do feel a little guilty. i didn't tell anyone i was having troubles besides my mom and a girl i work with. (and dh of course!)
good luck with your iui! did your Dr suggest any surgery to get rid of the endemetriosis? i have heard that can really help.

Thank girls.
Yeah...I know...she just doesn't understand. She pretty much got bfp right away. I'm happy for anyone who doesn't have to go through this. It's very frustrating!!
I had surgery for Endo in Oct. It was a mild case, however combined with my age, it can impact fertility just the same.
I am going to try clomid next cycle for the first time. Hopefully that might do the trick.
I'm feeling a little down this morning. Another friend is pregnant. I and feel so guilty...but this is the 23rd person that is pregnant in the 19 months we've been ttc. I know I really shouldn't think that way, but man...what gives, I deserve it too Sad

Aww. I'm sorry. Just remember, you're not mad at anyone for getting pregnant, but perhaps a bit envious. Those feelings are natural and its better to recognize them than to hide them.

the Secret
Posted: 02-19-07 13:23pm

Thanks Shortgeek. I'm trying to relieve the guilt.
I watched this movie called The Secret this past weekend.
It kind of helped me put things into prespective, and it had great tools to try and stay positive and focus on your goals. I highly reccomend it to anyone with a personal struggle. Oprah reccomends it Wink
Anyway...that baby news this moring kind of threw me off my positive track, I'll get back on! I'll get back on!

DPrssd - I know exactly what you mean about other people getting pregnant so easily. Right now as I sit at work, there are two people that are pregnant. Also, my husbands friends wife is pregnant, and to top things off, my sister in law is pregnant with their second. Its real hard to see everyone have no troubles at all getting pregnant.

It is really hard on me with my sister in law, because she didn't try at all. She missed a couple of her pills one month...and bamo..here comes number two.

Also, no one in my whole family has ever had any problems with getting pregnant. I have tons of cousins, and they all have more than one child. I am literally the only one of 14 1st cousins that does not have any children.

WHAt gives???

Hi Star
I hear you sister....I hear you loud and clear. Nobody in my family is pregnant right now...my sister is done. She has 4. No problems there. All the In-Laws are done too. It's work and friends that are so "productive".
I think there is a baby boom. I swear. People say..."no there isn't, you only notice because it is a situation that applies to you right now". But I swear there is a baby boom. I've never seen so many pregnant people! I'm hoping some of their baby dust rubs off on me, and all of us for that matter.

Wow, Finally People That Feel As I Do
Posted: 02-19-07 20:43pm

It's nice to know I am not alone. My husband and I have been trying for 2 years. After 2 miscarriages and many tests, I am on my second month of Clomid. I got my very very painful af yesterday and was once again dissapointed. 3 of my friends are pregnant and I too am the only one in my family that is having problems. My brother is 5 years yonger at 31 and has two kids. Everywhere I look, preganant women...They are all over the place...I am happy for them and sad for me. It really hurts.

All you girls are so amazing. I get strength from your words, and just reading that someone else is feeling what I'm feeling has eased some of the burden I feel. Someday we will all be incredible moms. Our children will be so loved....they will never know the pain we went through. I'm working so hard at staying positive, its tough, but I'm staying focused. (minor blip yesterday).
Rent the documentry "The Secret". It's the only thing so far that has even made a dent in my blues. I'm going to put together a "vision board" on Thursday with my friend. If you envision it, it will come. We'll see!
2007 is our year girls.....next time it will be US saying....I'm pregnant!!

Great pep talk!

I totally know where you are coming from. Last month, on the day my temp dropped below the cover line but before af started, one of the security guards said to me, "Doesn't it seem like everyone in this building is pregnant with twins?" It was not what I wanted to hear because my dh really wants twins and I was not feeling particularly pregnant. I think I said, "must be in the water," but I really wanted to say, "not me."

We aren't sharing our ttc with others even though we know others are also trying. Deep down I hope I get pregnant before them, but I'd be happiest if everyone got pregnant at the same time.
