change a light bulb?
* 1 to change the light bulb and to post
that the light bulb has been changed

changing light bulbs and how the light
bulb could have been changed differently
* 7 to caution about the dangers of
changing light bulbs
* 27 to point out spelling/grammar errors
in posts about changing light bulbs
* 53 to flame the spell checkers
* 41 to correct spelling/grammar flames
* 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb"
or "light bulb"
* 6 more to condemn those 6 as
anal-retentive
* 2 industry professionals to inform the
group that the proper term is "lamp"
* 15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in
the industry, and that "light bulb" is
perfectly correct

complaining that they are in violation of
their "acceptable use policy"
* 109 to post that this forum is not about
light bulbs and to please take this
discussion to a lightbulb forum
* 203 to demand that cross posting to

lightbulb forum about changing light bulbs
be stopped
* 111 to defend the posting to this forum
saying that we all use light bulbs and
therefore the posts *are* relevant to this
forum

light bulbs is superior, where to buy the
best light bulbs, what brand of light
bulbs work best for this technique and
what brands are faulty
* 27 to post url's where one can see
examples of different light bulbs
* 14 to post that the url's were posted
incorrectly and then post the corrected
url's
* 3 to post about links they found from
the url's that are relevant to this group
which makes light bulbs relevant to this
group

in their entirety including all headers
and signatures, and add "me too"

Nancy, it's just how things go on a forum
isn't it.
Tiny things blown out of proportion, and
then 6 months later a newb goes and posts
to it bumping the old thread and
re-starting the debate.

I simply use energy saving bulbs :p hehe
this was the first thing I read when I
woke up, I haven't been here long but I
certainly see some similarities. It made
me giggle.

i'm open to suggestions. I think the
compact ones look cool but....Then again,
the standard bulbs do give off
heat.....But the others save energy.....Oh
I dunno. Help!

not exactly.
3 of us wrote it about 4 or 5 years ago
now.
I was just adding stuff to my website and
going through old old old text files and
found it and needed to post it.
It was around the same time that we (well,
katy) wrote electricated nappies.

don't even get me started on those
fluorescent lightbulbs. Nick and I went
back and forth on this forever until the
day I opened the fridge and saw he'd
swapped out that bulb for the fluorescent
one, he said he just wanted to conserve
energy and save money, I said "you do know
the light goes off when you close the
door, right?", that's when I drew the line
and had to designate which lamps he could
use them in. And I made him put the old
bulb back in the fridge.
