Move?
Posted: 02-06-07 11:43am

I'm sick of pennsylvania and I want to move.

The thing is even thought i've lived in different states it has always been with other people. I have no clue whether moving to a different state is any different than moving to another part of the same state.

So far this is all I know that I would need to do.

1) find a job in puerto rico
2) find a house in puerto rico
3) find childcare in puerto rico
4) once I get there change dmv info

anything else?

no more dangerous than anywhere else. Maybe you're thinking of san juan (the capital) it has a high crime rate but no higher than most other big cities. I actually don'w want to live in san juan. They have the united states government there. It's a us territory (well really a self governing commonwealth).. Laughing

I keep wanting to move out of london to a nice seaside town or somewhere with lots of greenery. I just don't have the balls to get up and leave. London seems to have everything and the kids will have fantastic oppurtunities when they are older.

I'm torn between they're childhood and adulthood Crying
or Very sad

Well back to the question at hand, I have moved from state to state *twice* and it is pretty simple unless you have state funding or national funding of some sort (ma, food stamps yadda yadda, I don't know a thing about wic but my job involves helping people with ma and food stamps all the time, you have to close your current account and completely re apply in the new state.) anyway it is pretty simple:
find house/apt
find job
move
forward your mail and inform all subscriptions and credit cards of the change (and any other important mail)
change phone and cell phone number and billing address
get new license and tags for you car

inform old employer of of new address for tax forms

make sure you fill out both states tax returns at the end of the year!
