High Blood Pressure And Exercise - What Is Safe?? Posted: 02-06-07 19:17pm
I am 41 and a triathlete. I just staarted
getting high readings on my bp like 130/90
and becasue I am dibetic type 1, the docs
are a little more concerned and wanting me
to start some medications. Today I did a
stress test and during excercise my bp
went up to 182/90. So I am waiting a week
to talk witht ecardiologist about the
results and wanted to see what others had
to say as a second an dsuch opinion.
What levels are safe and is 180/90 a
normal reading during exercise?? Any
thoughts on wht that means?? Is it safe
for me to continue my training regimine??

having type 1 diabetes you may want to
avoid stressful exercises. trying a more
moderate level exercise is recommended.
measuring your blood pressure during
exercise isn't accurate, you may want to
measure it several times throughout the
day and take the average since our blood
pressure changes based on your current
health conditions.
