Abdominal Pain

Its been known that gas can cause a pain. See if you can find a correlation to the pain and what food you ate prior to the pain.

When I was 18 I was diagnosed with biliary colic. I had no idea what that was at the time I just knew I had a pain in my upper abdomen that seemed to radiate through my body from under my right ribcage. The only way for me to describe the pain I feel is like someone taking a sharp knife and stabbing me and then twisting it inside. Yea not a great feeling. The pain was horrible and I couldn't do anything but lie in pain. It only happened every few months so I just ignored it until it kept coming back and my fever shot up to 104. $4,000 later... It was found that I had biliary colic aka: gall stones and it runs in my family. I had no idea .. I always thought only obese people got it.. But I was wrong. Dunno if maybe that can help you in some way but it seemed like maybe you had something like when my pains began. Also... Although they told me it was normally fatty foods that started it up things like lettuce and celery and nuts are also terrible and something I can't handle eating.

For now I am still living with the pain actually. I was told that if I went back to the E.R with so much as a fever they would send me in for emergency surgery So I am actually supposed to have the surgery to have my gal bladder removed but have yet to do so. They told me that is the only way to make it better but when I went last time the surgeon wasn't in lol .. They gave me 2 perscriptions though Propoxyphene (pain killer) which DO NOT help just so ya know and Ranitidine which seems to help somewhat if I can sense the pain coming before it actually starts fully. Sometimes i just get that feeling like i am going to have an attack later so i take 2 of those and it seems to keep it from happening sometimes but others it just seems and other times I don't take it in time and the attacks just happen Make sure that you get checked for it and maybe even ask some family if they were ever diagnosed with it because I have found it runs in my family in women but is common in men as well. Sorry it took so long for a reply hehe . . went out of town for my birthday.

Also . . my mom just had the surgery about 3 weeks ago to remove her gall bladder. Although she is very sore just from the surgery itself she is feeling much better and no more pain
