Yeast Infection? Herpes? I'm Confused..plz Answer Asap =(

I posted on here awhile back about either
a possible yeast infection or maybe
herpes. At christmas time I got an itchy,
slightly painful, uncomfortable vagina.
This also came with annoying bumps. The
first thing I thought was herpes. I
hadn't had sex in over a year but I know
that sometimes people wont get symptoms
for up to two years. Occasionally i'll
get pretty heavy discharge. People have
told me that they've had bad yeast
infections similar to this. It's now
february 7th, and these symptoms have been
here since christmas and not gone away.
There have been times where it was less
annoying then others, but it's remained
itchy and irritated the entire time. I
know that usually herpes outbreaks don't
last this long ... And i'm very confused.
Could this really be herpes, or just a
wicked yeast infection? Someone please
answer asap. =(

I actually haven't been able to. My mom
has no money to take me, and i've been
really worried about it. But I know she
can't do it, and I don't know any of my
friends who could take me to planned
parenthood for a test.

You can't go by yourself? It really
sounds like you need to be seen by a doc.

Is the bus or a taxi an option for you?

I totally agree with the others you most
definately need to be seen by a physican.
You may only be 16, but wise enough to
know if this is something serious, the
longer you put it off the worse its gonna
be. There has to be someonethat can take
you to a free clinic, not surew here you
are, but I do know there are local health
departments that base the fees on your
income. It sounds as though you have
herpes or genital warts, although I am not
a physican, I do know you aren't suppose
to be broken out and itchy at 16 years
old. Please find a way to get yourself
checked out!

Yeah i'm searching desperately for someone
who can take me. I think i'm going to
save up for awhile, and see if my friend's
mother who's known me for awhile can take
me to planned parenthood in raleigh to get
checked out if I give her the gas money.
I have no idea what this could be other
then herpes or genital warts or something.
I know that most people who talk about
their herpes outbreaks talk about how
unbearable they are, and it confuses me
because what i'm going through right now
can be annoying at times but it's
certainly not unbearable. It's actually
easy for me to ignore sometimes and I have
no problem moving around or anything.
There's been pain urinating a few times,
but this has been going on ever since
christmas until now when it's still going
on and nothing has really gotten better or
worse, it's just kind of stayed steady. I
want to get looked at by someone very
soon. It does sound a lot like herpes to
me from what i've heard, other than this
unbearable pain and the fact that it's
gone on for a long period of time. Other
people say it could be bad thrush or
something but I think in this situation
and with the symptoms i'm having it's more
likely to be herpes than an infection.
Either way, I try to find some way to look
on the bright side, such as i'd rather be
worrying about herpes than about aids or
hiv or something. But I do know that it's
not normal for someone as young as me to
be going through this and I want to get
looked at asap. Even if it is herpes, I
don't want to tell my mom yet. I want to
wait for the right time to tell her.
She's a very strict person and we're going
through a rough family time and I think
it's better for both of us if I wait for
the right time to tell her about it.
Hopefully everything goes well, if anyone
else has any sort of information please
inform me. And thank the both of you very
much for responding to me =)

Is there not anywhere closer than raleigh
that you can go? I thought every county
had a clinic. Here in georgia, you could
go to planned parenthood and your mother
would not know. Being a mother myself to
a 23 year old, I do understand where you
are coming from, afraid and not waanting
ot tell you mother. Family crisis, I
totally understand, but on the other hand,
i'd want you to tell me if you were my
daughter so that I could take you and take
care of you...............Just promise to
take care of yourself!

I really think that it's a bad yeast
infection. You can go buy monistat or
canesten, the 3 day packs. You would
definitely not have been able to stand
herpes this long dear, trust me, after a
couple days you would have considered the
emergency room.
I truly think it's a yeast infection, and
they don't go away without treatment. You
can just go buy a 3 day pack as a drug
store. It really helps and there are
creams to stop the irritation and itching.

There are over the counter meds for yeast
infections, but it is not recommended that
women take them unless they have actually
been diagnosed with a yeast infection by a
doctor. So either way, keep trying to
get into that doctor! Good luck!

Thank you all soooo much. I'm really
hoping that it's just a yeast infection or
maybe just something else that I can get
rid of quickly. But I know of hardly
anyone who could give me a ride to a
clinic and it'd be pretty hard for me to
convince my mom to let me take a bus alone
somewhere haha. She always tries to be on
top of what i'm doing. I was worried that
maybe this was herpes that could have
possibly provoked a yeast infection and
that's why it's lasted so long, but I
don't understand how herpes would have
been this easy for me to deal with. The
only time it felt even remotely painful
was the first couple days that it started,
and the day before my period this past
time. And even then it didn't really feel
like it was in pain it just felt sort of
dry, itchy and irritated. Hopefully this
is just a false alarm or something. Grrr
haha. And of course I freaked out cause
one of my friends was like "make sure that
if it's herpes you keep your hands away
from your eyes cause if herpes getsin your
eyes it could make you go blinde." and
then I really freaked out aha. But most
people told me that even if it got in your
eyes they doubt it could cause blindness.
I'm just a very big worrier haha.
