Possible Right Heart Insufficiency
Posted: 02-07-07 17:18pm

Hello everyone. This was the only forum I could find heart related. I am currently residing in germany with my husband and my son. My husband is in the united states active army. (so we're stationed here.)

i am 18 years old. My husband and I planned our first child and I got pregnant april 2005. May 13th I found out I was pregnant, we were, of course, thrilled. My first appointment at just about 10 weeks, I showed a sign of anemia, and was prescribed iron, so big deal right? Well throughout my entire pregnancy it got worse and worse, I had my son and came close to having a blood transfusion, very close. I technically still need one. Anyhow, this was over a year ago and i've been to several specialists for the problems with anemia. (there wasa bit of background info)

i am applying for a job that needs my medical records, and upon checking them out at the army medical clinic I began reading what was in it. I ran across letters my american doctor had recieved from my german doctor, the results from various testing he had done. One thing worried me becuase I was never informed of this, and since it was in german, I didnt know, then when it was translated to english it was just stuck in my file. I might also ad that my american doctor, was terrible.

It said upon the results was a possibly right heart insufficiency. I am upset because I have no idea what this means, and quiet frankly, im worried! They can't find out whats wrong with me to help me with the severe anemia I have, and if this was overlooked, maybe this is whats wrong? Also, it was not technically overlooked. The german doctor wrote in the summary that I was to come back in and have more testing done for test this possible right heart insufficiency, and I was never told, or talked to by a doctor about this. In the letter it says...

With an in-direct indication of a possible right heart insufficiency by sonography a complementary trans-thoracic echocardiography should be preformed.

If the english looks off its probably fro mthe translation from my insurance company.

Can anyone please tell me if they understand anyone this. Becuase im pretty lost, and pretty upset, about the whole thing.

I might also note that any time I exersize I have a very hard time keeping my heart rate down, doing normal non-stressful exersizing.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I am taking this up with my doctor, as soon as I can get an appointment.
