Not starting crap but haitian kreyol is waaaaaaaaay different from cajun french. They are not the same at all and while they share some similarities (since the parent language of both is french), they are more like spanish and italian. My grandfather and mother speak haitian kreyol, they do not speak cajun french. Now keep in mind that haiti has two official languages, kreyol (no this is not a misspelling, this is the proper way to spell the name of the haitian language) and french. So if you come across a haitian speaking french don't assume it's kreyol.

You're right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're are .Cajuns and they're are .Creole.

I think I said that in one of my posts. Hell, I made so damn many!! It's hard to keep track.

But we have *both* big time down here. They mix heritages so many people are both.

Lol you guys. I wasn't trying to be sh*tty. It's like one of my pet peeves that people think that it's the same language. Not even close (alright, so it is). I don't know how you ask if someone has children in cajun french but I doubt it sounds anything like esk ou gen piti ou.

creole
from wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

the word creole is an adaptation of the castillian-spanish word criollo, which came into english from french between 1595 and 1605. Creole and its cognates in other languages (such as crioulo, créole, kriolu, criol, kreyol, kriulo, kriol, krio, etc.) may refer to:

-a person of spanish (or french or portuguese) ancestry but born in one of the spanish (or french) colonies, as opposed to a spaniard (or frenchman or portuguese) born in spain (or france or portugal)
any of the creole peoples, a number of distinct ethnic groups in various countries
-a creole language, a type of language formed from a pidgin
creoles and patois spoken on islands formerly under french colonial rule
the creole pig, a breed of pig from haiti
-a little known genre of classic rock, unbeknownst to many modern day musicians. The style originated as a cross between rock and roll and 20's style era swing music. Very little is known about this style, and mark knopfler is one of the few remaining visionaries.
-a casual reference to mean "pertaining to new orleans" or aspects of its culture
-creole (api), a programming database abstraction layer for php5 named creole
-a style of classic rock made popular by mark knopfler
-la compagnie creole, a 1980s french pop band
-in converging technologies, technical vocabulary common to several disciplines which allows stakeholders to communicate effectively

the term louisiana creole usually refers to the louisiana creole people in the us, and concepts associated with them

How confusing so some of my cousins are creole? Technically I mean.
Im pretty sure some cape verdeans speak creole. Those are the only creoles I really know and they dont really call themselves creole.
