.Today was officially my last day of
work!!!Yay for me!!! No more .Tim
.Horton's .E.V.E.R.!!!!!Tim's can kiss my
fat pregnant a$$ for all .I care
lol!!Seriously, anyone who has ever heard
of it, .N.E.V.E.R work there...It
seriously just chews you up and spits you
back out.I was a supervisor there for the
past eleven months, and never have .I
worked in a more thankless job. Although
it was nice today because all the regular
full time staff gave me a cake and a big
basket full of baby stuff, which did make
me feel more appreciated. But .I'm so
glad to be doneeeee!!!
.Now .I can just stay home, relax, and get
ready for .Molly!!! I've got her room all
ready, all .I pretty much have left to do
is go over to my parent's and wash all her
new clothes, and just get a few last
minute things ready.
.Here's a quick question....I'm planning
on breastfeeding, so .I already have a
pump and some bottles, but should .I buy
formula just in case .I have trouble?
Because .I'm not 100% against
supplementing, if .I absolutely have
to...Just as long as she's not hungry.I'm
willing to take the time and effort to
breastfeed, .I'm just concerned we'll have
problems.
And which pump did you find the best? .I
bought an .Aveda one, and .I've heard both
good and bad things about it.

it is easier to give in to supplementing
when you have formula around to supplement
with. The first few weeks of breast
feeding are difficult, but once you get
past that, its easy money.
It also isn't recommended to supplement a
brand new baby while you are trying to
establish breast feeding. Read up on it.
Nipple confusion is a real issue. More
milk comes out of a bottle's nipple with
less effort. Babies are like anyone else
and they want more for less effort (breast
feeding is a lot of work for babies!) so
they will begin to choose the formula over
breast feeding which will cause you to
make less milk which will frustrate the
baby which will make you give into the
bottle that much more.
Simple answer: if the formula ain't there,
you won't use it.
Good luck! And congrats on being jobless!

I had formula at my home from all the
samples they gave me and I never
supplimented. Never needed too......And
besides you never know what kind of
formula that your child will use. So if
you do go out buying formula then dont'
buy too much.
Yay for not working.....But I work in a
thankless job too. They all are I think
I have never worked in a job where I got
thanked for anything.

.Yeah .Laura, .Tim .Horton's is a donut
place...Its superrrrr huge here in
.Canada.
.I really do have my heart set on
breastfeeding, but .I just have ths fear
in the back of my mind that .I'll have
trouble with it, and she'll be hungry, and
we'll be stuck at home with nothing to
give her.I do intend on sticking with
breastfeeding, but .I just keep having
these fears.
I gave my daughter a bottle because i'ld
try for hours with the breastfeeding and
after a while she was screaming so hard
she was going bright red and I was scared
she was starving. It was a mistake
because now i'm stuck giving her a bottle
at least once a day, and i'm trying to
wean her off by making her suck on the
boob a little longer each day even though
she's crying and frustrated before giving
her some formula, and then pumping
afterwards to try and stimulate more milk
production. I wouldn't have had this
problem now if I hadn't given in and given
her a bottle at the time when it was so
tough, now I barely have any milk in the
evenings (when she gets a bottle) and it's
really hard trying to put her back on the
boob at that time. In the hospital
people are probably going to push
supplementing lots, but if you want to
exclusively breastfeed stick to it and
even though it will be really hard for the
first while you won't have problems later
on if you don't supplement. That said,
if you have to give a bottle once a day
it's not that big of a deal. It made me
feel like crap at first, but the fact is
through struggling so much with her I
didn't get a chance to enjoy her and
having some formula when it was really
tough calmed us both down and made things
a lot less stressful, and she is still on
the boob for the rest of the day so it's
okay. You should join a breastfeeding
group, they can help a lot if you are
having trouble. Also the hospital
should have a lactation consultant who
should be able to work with you, I know
when I was in the hospital the one there
sat with me for hours helping me and it
made the hugest difference. I'm going
to tell you, breastfeeding is by far the
hardest thing i've ever done, harder than
pushing my baby out, and every single day
I was tempted to give up but i'm way too
stubborn to have accepted failing at it
and now i'm so glad I didn't give up. I
always knew before I had to do it that it
would be really hard, but I couldn't have
imagined how hard it really is. But all
babies and all mothers are different, some
have less problems than others. Oh I
went on a huge tangent, all you asked was
if you should buy some formula just in
case. Sorry. Anyways, good luck!

.Haha .Tanya, .I'm glad you went off on a
tangent about it....At least .I have
someone else's experiences to learn
from.
.I can see how if .Rowan was screaming for
hours you would want to give her a
bottle...I mean, you can only try so hard,
and if its just not working, and the
baby's starving, what else are you
supposed to do?
.That said, .I think .I'm not going to
have any formula in the house unless .I
end up in the same situation, with .Molly
screaming for hours because she's
hungry.I'll keep the hospital samples
around, but .I think .I'm just going to
avoid the temptation of giving up on
breastfeeding if it gets too difficult.

Babies who get used to the bottle dont
easily go back to the breats because it
much more complicated to feed from the
breast then the bottle the baby will get
frustrated and give up......
P.S. Tim hortons coffee is addictive
