My wife is bipolar,so am I what is the
chance of the baby being bipolar when we
have one?

Parents—when one parent is bipolar, each
child has a 15%-30% chance of developing
the condition. When both parents have the
illness, the risk jumps to between 50% and
75%.
I don't know the statistics on it but from
experience I can say it will carry over.
My mom is bi-polar(manic/depressive) and I
have numerous neurological issues as do 2
of my 3 kids. I would say that it should
not deter you from having children but
just be prepared so that if it does
transfer you have a heads up and can seek
treatment early. Just stay on top of it
and all should be well. Just my personal
opinion.
