Q: Is My Conceiving Date Correct?
asked by: missty on February 8th, 2007

I am due on may 14,2007. I was told that I conceived on august 21st/06. My last period was beginning of august. I had sex with my ex a day after my period. Around aug.5/6. Then had sex with my boyfriend many times in the same month. I'm really nervous that my conceiving date may be wrong! Is it possible that I could have conceived with my ex right after my period? I have seen online that it is possible to get pregnant right after your period. Are they normally accurate on due&conceiving dates? This is really confusing&frustrating. Please understand & don't judge.

The truth is you'll need to get a paternity dna test. If you sleep with multiple partners in a short amount of time, the odds are it could be either one.

Statistically, your risk of getting pregnant just after your period is quite low. However, that is not to say your ex isn't the baby's father.

No one can ever tell you the exact date of conception, even doctors or ultrasound techs - unless you only had sex one single time that month you couldn't know the 'exact' date.

Generally, if you know the first date of your last period and the normal length of your periods, you would know approximate dates of ovulation. That is how the doctors do it.

Good luck.

August 21st is the typical expected conception date for a due date of may 14th.

Did your doc tell you that you concieved on aug 21?

My 'typical' conception date wasn't right because I ovulated 6 days later. And of course, I didnt know that, my doctor told me that because he could tell from the ultrasound dating.

If your doc is telling you that your due date is may 14 because of ultrasound dating to see how far along you really are, then you probably did concieve on aug21 or around that day. They can pinpoint down to the day how 'old' your baby is!
Good luck

that is the typical conception not ovulation date based on her due date given to her by doctor.

My Dr. Did tell me the conceiving date (aug21). She had pinpointed it from my ultrasound due date. I just hope that it correct because I would be mortified if it wasn't my boyfriend's baby. This is just an awful feeling to go through & knowing I shouldn't have stupidly been with my ex! Thank you all for your help & support.

Well you have three more months till the baby is born and then have them do a dna test to see who the father is. If it's not your boyfriend's then it's your ex's.

Concieving dates are not alsways 100% accurate to the date...They can vary a few days on either side and you will never know the exact time. About the test im not sure ..Im guessing it would cost a bit since its not covered by health insurance in any province.

Uh ya unless you can get a swab of his spit while he sleeps. And the only way to get free dna testing here is if it's court ordered. Costs vary from 600-1200$ cad depending on the type of test.

Worst comes to worst, call maury. Cool

google dna testing in canada, there's some great informative sites.
