My Birth Story!!
Posted: 02-09-07 17:00pm

Well it all started on friday. I had braxton hicks back to back basically but wasnt convinced that I was close to labor so I ignored them lol. About 4:20am saturday morning, I was awaken by a contraction. Wasnt painful just a little crampy. This happened all day saturday. They wasnt regular but by 7pm I decided to go to labor and delivery anyways to see whats going on. Well when I got there I was still a fingertip and my contractions were between 3-10 miuntes apart. So they sent me home and told me I wasnt in labor! We left and went to ruby tuesdays and ate. By the time we got home my contractions were 6-7 minutes apart. I still wasnt convinced I was in real labor so I stayed at home and sit on my exercise ball lol. Later I tried to get some rest but couldnt my contractions were getting a little stronger but nothing I couldnt tolerate. By the time 4 0'clock came around they were even stronger but I was still laughing though them. Then we noticed they were 5 minutes apart so I was actually convinced that my labor has actually started. We got to the hospital and I was 2 cm. They broke my water and put me on pitocin. Thats were I started getting the painful ones. I was still laughing though. They gave me a shot of demerol but it didnt help at all. Pain was still there. But I have had worst menstrual cramps. Bout an 2-3hours later later they checked me and I was 3cm so I went ahead and got an epidural. Then they checked me again around 11 and I was 8cm. Theeeeen 10 minutes later after checking me, I started feeling the urge to push so they checked me and I was already 10cm Shocked so they called the doctor to let her know, which by the way wasnt my doctor it was the one on call, and I began pushing. 35 minutes later she was out!! I had my beautiful duaghter at 11:52am sunday morning!! I only had 2 paper cut 'tares'!! ( I definatly recommmend the massaging , kind of uncomfortable but it was worth it lol)

that was the most beautiful experience I have ever had!! I will never forget the feeling of her head and body popping out!! Im sooo in love wit her!!! Becoming a mommy is the best thing that has ever happened to me!! Mommy <3 .Amelia
