Abnormal Period Posted: 02-09-07 20:03pm
I've been on the pill since april of 2005.
I've switched a few times to different
brands because of bad side effects. I've
been on ortho-tri-cyclen lo for about 3
months now (was on it about a year ago,
switched brands and then went back to
otc). Here's what happened:
i lost my pill on saturday while at work
(day 9 in the pack). I took the pill on
sunday and monday. On monday, while at
work, I started my period. I've missed a
pill or two before and this never
happened. I've been on my period since
monday afternoon. This is day 5 and i'm
still having heavy bleeding. I haven't
missed a pill since last saturday. I
thought by continuing with the pack, my
period would stop. It didn't. I've been
having a lot of pressure in my pelvic
area, almost like cramps, but not quite.
Today, the blood went from all red to red
and brown.
Has anyone ever heard of this? I started
my period 2 weeks early, am having lots of
pressure in my pelvic area, brown
bleeding, and the bleeding is heavy on day
5.
Any advise would be wonderful. Thank
you!
Also: I called my doctor and the nurse
said to keep taking my pills as if I never
started my period. I made an appointment
for next friday for a pap.
