When did your baby start using them?

I don't even remember. A long time ago. Probably about when we seriously started on solids... At first i'd just give him a little milk in it for practice... Now he's an old pro!!!

I started .Adriana pretty young because I didn't want to give her juice in a bottle. So like .Kay said, when they start solids and can have juice. In our case she was able to have juice as soon as she started solids. So I think she was about 4 or 5 months old.

We're on stage 1 foods and rice cereal... Does that count as "solids" solids? Neutral

.I want to try her out with water but .I'm not sure if she'll know what to do with the cup. She's breastfed so she's not really familiar with bottles.

*sigh* Laughing .I'm so lost!

Most websites suggest that you put a little of whatever tasty substance is in the sippy cup onto the spout, and then put it up to .Aly's lips so it helps her to figure out there might be something in it for her.

Yes ma'am, those certainly do count as solids!
And she won't be able to hold it of course, but just hold it up to her mouth and see what she does...She'll get the hang of it. See if it helps to put a bit of water on the spout so she knows somethings in there.

Wow, talking about .Aly using sippy cups makes her seem so grown up! Why do they all have to grow up so quick?

Not yet! I wanted to get the different stage 1 foods out of the way (to test for allergies) before changing her cereal. We still have prunes and peas to go. She haaaates peaches and applesauce Shocked and looooves yellow squash (like her mommy!). She really seems to like rice cereal (which pretty much tastes like nothing) so I try to cut her stage 1 stuff with that.

Mandi: I know! She was just in my tummy! Crying
or Very sad soon she's going to be like "Rolling Eyes go away mom" Crying
or Very sad Crying

So far .Noah has liked everything we have tried. I have sweet potatoes to start tomorrow. We haven't tried peas or peaches yet. He loves pears and carrots! Hopefully .I won't have a picky eater. He's been easy so far!
How many times per day are you feeding her cereal and fruits/veggies?

Ooh I forgot about carrots. Crap. I thought I was nearly done! Laughing

.Alyvia...
Loves: yellow squash
tolerates: sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, green beans
hates: peaches, applesauce

i try to feed her 3 "meals", but she's very dramatic. I'm lucky to get two in her. Usually she cries for the boob and refuses the spoon if she's in a pissy mood (which is pretty often Neutral)

Can't forget about them carrots! They are my favorite so that's why we tried them first! Lol

we do 2 "meals" per day and he seems so content with that. (of course he nurses also). I'm dreading weaning him. Especially his last feeding. (bedtime) he needs a boob to go to bed! Rolling Eyes
