Addisons Disease
Posted: 02-09-07 20:57pm

Hi guys an update with my hypos. The hypos were ok for a long time nearly 4 months without a hypo. Then got stressed out at work and started having them again. Today I have been told I have addisons disease which causes hypos.

Anyway my question is my specialist advised me to drink weight gain shakes to help me because im a very active person to dink inbetween the morning mill and lunchtime meal as I become very hungry and sick. I just want to know if you guys feel it is ok to do this?

As long as they don't contain sugar or sweeteners than can effect you, which unfortunately most of them do. Addison's is an extremely rare disease, are the doctors certain of this?

They are not 100% sure that this is what it is but the symptoms suggest that it is. However I do not have severe weight loss I have always weighed a little over 6stone and have never been able to gain weight. Im a very sporty person and thought id try the protein shakes. My only other resort is illegal steriods but I dont think ill go there but have been very temptead. Anything you could suggest with the weight gain? Cheers stan

Well, weight gain is only really possible when you're eating more carbohydrates than you should along with fat/protein. You may find luck increasing your fat intake.
