Constipation

Hello, I have chronic rib pain on the left side of my body and have no idea what is causing it or what could possibly help it. I have had every test in the book and am keeping a diary of what I eat and how i'm sleeping to try to find out what is wrong with me. There is a physical symptom because my left rib is sticking out and that is where most of the pain is. Sometimes it shoots around my back if i put too much strain on it. It seems worse after I go to the bathroom. I am wondering where I should go from here as far as medical treatment goes. Is this a stomach or skeletal problem, or both? what can ask my osteopath to do that might help it? Is there any other doctor I should be seeing or any test i should request? Could my ribs possibly be pushing on something inside of me that is causing constipation? What can I do about not being able to eat many of the foods that I used to eat anymore? Any help on any of the above questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

The two problems you describe, left side chest pain and constipation, lack a few details.
I'll need to know more about what is “sticking out” from the left rib that can’t be seen on an X-ray, MRI or CT-scan and the osteopathic diagnosis for the condition.
Constipation could be a symptom of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). You can try to manage constipation with a high-fibre diet and perhaps seek a prescription for purgative drugs like Dulkolax.
The most important thing is that all the medical tests excluded a tumor as a possible reason for the symptoms you are experiencing.
You may consult an orthopedist when the “rib sticking out” shows up again.
