I am on ortho tryclen lo and I wanted to
skip a period while I was traveling on
business. I just skipped the placebos and
went straight to the next pack (i now know
that this is not the correct way). All
that has happened is that my period was
delayed for 4 days and now I have been
having a period that starts and stops for
the past 12 days. I am halfway through
this pack and am starting to get scared.
Can someone please give me advice as to
when I should stop bleeding? My period
normally only lasts about 4 days.
Thankyou

It seems that you have done everything
correctly in order to skip the period by
skipping the placebo and starting a new
pack... but there is always a risk for
unexpected vaginal bleeding. You may
continue taking the pills from the new
pack. When you reach the placebo pills you
will probably experience some heavier
bleeding. After a heavy bleed, the
cycle/menstrual period should be
normalized. When you finish the placebo
pills you can then start another pack.
