Stomach & digestive disorders related to anxiety? Posted: 02-11-07 14:03pm
I have returned from a visit to India 9
days ago. For almost the entire time I
have been feeling rather nauseous although
not really vomited. I have also had severe
bouts of dizziness (I had labyrinthitus
last year but have not had a relapse
really).
I feel weak all day, just no energy, have
dizzy spells, am paranoid about my heart
even though I have had tests on it and all
are fine (no heart problems even in
extended family), I feel nauseous, and
have VERY BAD acid reflux, waking up at
night and not being able to sleep because
of it. I have to drink milk as TUMS do not
make it go away.
My anxeiety goes up anytime something
bizarre happens to me so i really want to
put my mind at rest. I obviously think its
something serious.
I have had slight stomach pains from time
to time, and my toilet business has been
loose but not diahorrea.
Just generally feel weak. Have dizziness
on/off and feel nauseous for a couple of
hours a day. I am male, 29.
According to the symptoms you report of
nausea, dizziness, feeling weak, acid
reflux, and stomach pains..you'll need
some additional medical examinations to
establish a diagnosis. Acid reflux,
nausea and stomach pain can be due to a
stomach disorder such as gastritis or the
presence of a peptic ulcer. A gastroscopy
is the most accurate and secure of stomach
examinations. Standard blood analyses,
including Helicobacter pillory-serology,
can be also done. Dizziness and weakness
could indicate anything. You can go to
your primary health provider to request
these examinations and to seek diagnosis.
You may also take some antacids in the
meantime.
