19 Year Old Male Worried
Posted: 02-11-07 14:47pm

Hi, first things first..I tend to worry a lot about my symptoms, I might not even be close to having leukemia, but I just worry a lot.

Anyways, in late november I had a terrible cold. It went away, but I still had a bit of sniffles for another week or so. About a week later, I started feeling dizzy, like all day. Not spinning or anything, almost like a fuzziness. That eventually lead to a feeling of heavy head. I didn't like it at all but it eventually went away within 2 days. From then on i've been feeling aches. I know this sounds strange but the ache went from my neck, down to my back, (almost feels like a stiffness more than an ache), then down to around my lower back/frontal area. Not the groin, it didn't restrict my movement at all, but it did ache for quite a while. I now feel small little aches everywhere. Mostly on parts of my arm and in my hands. And at work where I stand up all the time, my upper back will ache. Sitting down helps it go away. I went to the doctor about this and he said I had some viral infection. Started with an m , I really forget what its called.

I really don't know the difference between bone and muscle pain. I never feel pain at all, just a dull ache. I recently caught a bit of a cold, just a stuffy nose and a headache. This has gone on for a few weeks now, but mostly just snuffy nose and congested throat. I started feeling a bit dizzy again in the past few days. But its gone now. I've also had headache for the past few days. Just like 1 or 2 a day. I was also tired pretty much all day yesterday and the day before. Yet I had like 9 hours of sleep each of those days.

I don't feel any weakness at all, I still have an appetite, and I haven't been losing any weight. I dont' get night sweats and no fevers at all.

I just would really like a good answer. I'm prety sure I don't have leukemia, but I still worry that I do for some reason. I think about it all day pretty much, thats how I am. I seem to worry too much. And its making me feel a bit depressed. But I still go out and do things with friends and all that. The main thing that bothers me in the upper back pain/stiffness at work that I feel almost all day after about a few hours of working. Some days I don't even feel the back pain/stiffness. It's weird.

Anyways, i'll prob go into my doctors sometime this week to get a blood test done just to tell my mind that I don't have leukemia and that I can stop thinking about it!

Hey! Sorry about the lateness of my reply..... Have you found out anythinbg from your doctor??

I strongly dont think its leukemia as it doesnt seem like you have been overly tired and your appetite is still there. As your doctor said, it could be a bad dose of a viral infection.

Due to the symptoms that you have shown i would be surprised if it was found out that you had leukemia!

My ex boyfriend had leukemia for 2 years while i was with him so i do know a bit about it and what they go through so feel free to ask any question you want!

I wish you the very best of luck in your recovery!!
