I know some girls in school who had thoes but theirs just looked like big warts. Thanks for sharing Smile how r they gunna remove them?

Zanny's baby has an extra thumb. Jenny and amelia can form a club!

Did you know from ultrasounds that she would have those? I can see how the finger might have been missed but it looks like they would've noticed the toe.

We're actually talking about polydactylism in biology right now...Apparently it's a dominant trait, and having 10 fingers and 10 toes is a recessive.
That's really kind of cool, though! Makes lil .Amelia (and .Jenny, too!) all the more special!

its not that its dominant over having a normal amount of digits, its just that if one parent has the autosomal gene, it will overtake the normal one from the other parent.

yeah...Basically there are about a million or so people who have a dominant trait for polydactylism, which is why it occurrs frequently, yet infrequently. They find (because it's a dominant trait) that people born with extra fingers or toes are more likely to have children with extra fingers or toes.
A famous case of polydactlyism was .Anne .Boylen, the second wife of .Henry the 8th, and mother of .Elizabeth .I. She had an extra thumb, was thought to be a witch, and was beheaded. Not so awesome, if you ask me!

Normally if a child has extra digits they just tie them off at birth, unless they are able to move them like other fingers.

They couldnt get her feet real good on the ultrasound but they did say that hey 'seen' something. Now her hands, they totally didnt see anything because it has no bone.

I had 2 extra pinkies. They were tied off at birth. They do look like little warts and boy do they hurt if they get hit!!

Shes geting her snipped off. The surgeon said it would be faster and less painful. She was suppose to do them the day she was coming ome from the hospital but he got called into surgery so he had to reschedule it for tuesday.

Does jenny still got hers?? I would love to see another pic of it!! So zanny if you read this, post some pics!! Lol
