Twin Pregnancy Paranoia!!!
Posted: 02-12-07 18:58pm

Hi there, I am brand new to this and wanted to get some opinions because I am going through my paranoid stage right now. I have an ob appt in a little more than a week, but needed some info now.
I am 12 weeks, 3 days pregnant with twins via in-vitro fertilization. I just stopped all the progesterone shots and estrogen pills on friday. Over the weekend, had bad headaches. Is it normal to feel kinda yuck after stopping all that? That was my first question. Today I am a little better, but still a slight headache.
Second item, these will be my 3rd and 4th children, had the tubes tied 8 years ago, divorced, remarried, therefore the in-vitro route. Anyways, I am overweight, started about 223 when I got pregnant. Lots of morning sickness, and just overall not wanting to eat, nothing sounds good, feel like I am going to vomit when I do eat, well 12 weeks later, I am down to 205. Still don't feel like eating much, trying to be as healthy as possible, veggies and fruits, etc. But, I see all this info about how much more you have to eat having twins and I just can't do it! Even being overweight and not pregnant, I still didn't eat very much. Also, I am not even really showing and I get a little paranoid thinking I should be showing a lot more because of the twins. I know I have lost weight and perhaps that is it, my belly is smaller because of that, I just don't know!!!!
Can someone help me!!!! Confused Thank you so much for any advice you can give. Sunny Smile

It's not common to show at 12 weeks, even if it's not your first pregnancy. I didn't show at all until 20ish weeks. Overweight women sometimes don't show until much later. I'm not sure how twins would affect that, but your babies are still quite small right now.

I'm sorry to say I don't have answers for your other questions, but good luck!

I started showing late.. I started off around the same weight as you.. Lost 15lbs.. Even without the morning sickness.. And I still dont eat that much now.. 25 weeks and im not showing all too much either. Dont worry to much about it, im sure that everything is ok, and your ob apoint. Isnt too far away so until they tell you something is wrong dont stress and enjoy being pregnant!!!!

Sorry I couldnt help more

What does your doctor say about weight loss? Sounds like a first trimester thing to me. I'll bet once the morning sickness/yuck is over, you'll be gaining away. Remember, a lot of the last few months you will be laid back a bunch - so you are bound to gain weight when the babies are gaining weight!

As far suckers, babies are small at 12 weeks. Even 2 of them. You have many months left ahead to grow, grow, grow. It doesn't surprise me that you aren't showing, since first trimester showers are generally bloat and gas (not all. Don't flame me everyone!).
