Severe Ulcerative Colitis Flareup.
Posted: 02-13-07 16:24pm

Hello,

im a 29 year old female and have had ulcerative colitis for ten years now and I have a severly long flareup ongoing for over 9 months now straight. I have been hospitalized twice in three months and nothing is seeming to calm down this flareup. Ive had flares before but not this long. I am now taking imuran, and azulfidine I have been on steriod enemas, asacol, predinsone, colazal. My symptoms are worse upon awakening in the morning I can go 6-10 times just in the first hour of awakening and I also have mild bleeding not enough to make me anemic and have been severely dehydrated. I have been keeping a diary and maybe once twice a week I go once or twice in the day. I had a colonscopy and Dr. Said I have bad inflammation the first 6 inches of my colon, but the Dr. Said im running out of options and my best option is surgery to remove my colon. I have never had a flareup this bad before and dont want to go into surgery. I also have diabetes for 3 years (under strict control) and high blood pressure (under control) what other options are left I want to be able to have kids in a year of two and dont want surgery because of the fear of infertility because of adheasions from surgery. I need to know what other thearpies are out there.

Having been diagnosed with u.C three years ago,i have also dealt with flare-ups.I have not experienced what your going through exactly(ive not had bleeding)and can usually control mine with fasting.Ill stop eating all together, keep taking my medication, and wait for the cramping to go away and the diahrea to subside(this could take the longest). Then ill mix up some 7-up and phospho-soda(like my colonscopy prep)and clean-out my system. Then I dilengently watch what I eat.No fruit,no dairy etc......I know that youve probably heard all this before, but I can only say what I do.I hope that you get a handle on it soon and can avoid the surgery, but my mother probably said it best when she said its better to wear a bag than be in a bag.(youd have to meet my mom). Good luck

sounds like you're very acidic to me. I have ulcers but no doctor will believe me I had to fight so I'm on my own treating myself but I have learned how to cure it. For sure you need to stay away from processed foods. Dairy products, wheat, sugars in any form, corn etc. Any common known allergy food should be avoided which includes nuts, seeds and seafood also.

What you need to see is an alternative doctor who looks at live blood. From there they can tell you what to do usually taking vitamins and minerals and a certain diet.

Please go here http://biom edx.com/microscopes/rrintro/rrintro.html.< /a>
it's not an advertisement it's explains how we rot and rust. Tells you about the PH theory. Far as I know you can take calicum citrate with vitamin d and potassium. Before you do that though get PH test strips. You need to be around 7 to 7.5. Anyways I read when your PH is around 7 to take calcium orotate. Also make sure to drink plenty of water and chew food well by eating without talking watching tv etc.

In the first hour taking calicum citrate and potassium I feel so much better. I am in so much pain so this helps a lot. Please avoid taking any pain meds.

Good luck
