I Am So Pissed.

Ok so. At my babyshower. Chris's stepmom
got us a carseat. Nice, right? Well, I
was looking at information online, & I
read that the one she got us didn't rate
so good in safety tests. Like, in crash
testing, if flew off the base completely.
So .I'm like oh helllll no. So .I'm
searching for a receipt so we can go
return it. She didn't give us one. But
there's a sticker on the box that says
something something .Walmart on it. So
.I'm like, ok. Walmart. I go to their
website to see what else they have, &
I see the carseat she got us is on
"rollback" or "clearance" or whatever for
$39.... Okay, .I'm sorry, because I
really don't want to seem like .I'm being
ungrateful or selfish or overreacting or
something. But his dad & stepmom are
seriously like, loaded. & .The *only*
thing they get for their grandchild at all
is a clearanced carseat? I am just so
frustrated at this point. & I can't
even find the website I was looking at
yesterday.
So if anyone has a website with like,
safety ratings for carseats or anything
like that, could you pass it along to me?
Because if .I'm freaking out for no
reason, then .I'd like to know so I can
calm down, haha. I just want a good
carseat that's safe for .Gabe.
Whyyy does his family have to hate me.

Its the .Evenflo .Discovery. My good
friend had it, too. & .Her's just
flat out broke on her. When she was
carrying her son in it.

Ok, looking at that site there are barely
any that got all .As. So I guess it comes
down to what it got the bad marks in. The
evenflo discovery got a b in 'securing the
child', i'd definitely want an .A in that
category!

get store credit for the carseat we have
& buy a travel system & get
another base for .Chris's car. I just
feel like it's so unfair. It's the only

for .Gabe.. I mean I know money
shouldn't matter or buying things
shouldn't matter.. But it just seems
really ridiculous, ya know?

It does seem a little ridiculous. You'd
think they'd want to get a nice safe seat
for their grandchild.
I read up on the one you got and it only
has a 3-point harness? You definitely
want a 5-point.

Hey, I haven't looked at all the safety
ratings on the carseats but I got an
evenflo discovery from the sheriffs
department. Its one that they give out
really often so I personally don't think
it can be that bad...Maybe i'm wrong tho.
And don't feel bad about being upset
about his parents, my boyfriends parents
are the same way! They haven't bought a
thing for the baby besides a few outfits
that got marked down after
christmas..Funny thing is that they are
winter outfits in the size he should be
wearing during the summer! So much for
that...

My husband's mom and dad haven't even
tried to contact me to see their only
grand daughter. They did try to take
her away from me. But they never tried
to see her. But if you can get store
credit then that is 39 dollars that you
didn't have before.

I doubt they even realise about the car
seat ratings to be honest.
And it was in the news (can't remember
which but it was to do with the recent
.U.S testing of car seats) that the recent
tests were conducted at higher speeds that
stated and therefore gave falsely low
performance.
Soe were tested at like 70miles an hour
instead of the stated 30.

Well family can be funny that way.. The
best thing to do it kinda over look it and
return the item... Use the store credit
for something better.. You do have other
gift cards right.. Well maybe that will
help!! Im sorry that the situation is
sucky! But im sure things will be great
and once they meet that grandbaby they
will love and spoil the heck outta him!!

.Toys .R .Us & get an extra base for
.Chris's car. & .We have .Target
giftcards so we can get the monitor &
a bath & a few other random things we
need!

We use the .Discovery for .Alyvia. 6
months in and we haven't had any problems.
We're switching to a larger front-facing
seat in another 6 months and our
.Discovery is still in excellent
condition.
I wouldn't worry, love. It's a pretty
good seat.
