My bp is usually in the normal range.
However, after I do a moderate amount of
exercise (walk on treadmill, lift
weights), my bp spikes up about 4 or 5
hours later to around 145/90. At that
time, I start to feel my muscles get
sore/fatigued from the exercise, and my bp
is higher than usual.
I have not exercised regularly for several
years, but I am somewhat active since I
have a 2-yr old.
Why does this happen hours, rather than
minutes, after exercise?

This can happen or last for several hours
after exercise but if it doesn't go back
down shortly after then it doesn't sound
normal. Especially since you are new to
this amount of exercise I wouldn't worry
about it. You will probably adjust as your
fitness level increases but keep an eye on
it.
By the way, with any form of high bp you
should minimize weight lifting and other
anaerobic exercise. Keep it at low
intensity or stick to aerobics until
you're more fit. Weight lifting can
increase bp.

Actually, every normal people when
exercising can cause there blood pressure
to rise up....That is because when we are
exercising isn't that we need more oxygen?
We breath so fast that our heart pumps
more blood to supply our body with
oxygenated blood.
