Can a Woman Cause Her Own Infertility?
Posted: 02-13-07 22:32pm

I think I may be pregnant. My boyfriend & I have been trying for this for quite some time now. However, every time I feel as if I am, i'm let down.

Could it be b/c i'm stressing about it? It's all I think about. Twenty-four-seven. And I try my hardest not to. Can stress cause a woman to experience infertility? We just want a child so bad. It's not that I think negatively. I think I am & I feel as if I am. There's some confidence.

I was just wondering people's thoughts about this. I'm tired of it all just "being in my head."

thanks.

Hi and welcome!
In my opinion.....Definately!!! Thinking excessively and stressing about becmoing pregnant, can cause your body negative reactions. Just like when someone thinks they are pregnant and does not want to be, af takes it's sweet time to come (even though a person has a regular cycle) causing us to worry!!!!
I know it's so hard to not think about becoming pregnant, but you need to keep your mind occupied on other things when you are in your 2 week wait before testing! I also had a difficult time conceiving my first, but we did it and I am now 10wks pregnant!
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! Wink

3 more days then until test time!! Or wait, you said you'd test 5 days after missed af? I don't think you have to wait that long if you are quite regular??!!! Either way, keep us posted and here's to you getting your bfp! Wink

yes, yes. Soon. I took a test - b/c I couldn't wait, I still can't wait - 4 days before my period's arrival date, and it came back negative. But, there's still hope. I know sometimes those tests, even though they say they can detect pregnancy early, aren't accurate. I'm trying not to think about it too much. If i'm not, i'm not. If I am, well - Surprised Smile Exclamation [there's no other way to say it]. I'm just ready for this. Him & I both are.

Good!!! Well, I would test again either the day of af supposedly coming or the day after - just to play it safe!!!
Let us know how it turns out. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you! Wink
