Having a hymen does not make you a virgin.
Having sex means you are no longer a
virgin - even if your hymen is intact. If
you didn't bleed this time, it's possible
your hymen had already broken before you
had sex. Or maybe yours is thicker. It
doesn't really matter, though. You had
sex.
You are not a virgin anymore, hon.

Thank you Kia, Flipper and
Llewellyn for the rapid reply, i just get
scared now, from being pregnant, Is there
any method i can do to avoid being
pregnant? Is there any kind of meds or
something? It will be a catastroph for me
and my family if i'll be pregnant.
And about verginity... i had a friend
who's married and she had an elastic hymen
which means she was making sex without
loosing her virginity until she went to a
doctor who made her non virgin by a small
operation...
Msybe i'm like her... maybe i'm still
virgin but have an elastiv hymen. i really
dont know, i'm so worried and scared
now.
Your friend was not a virgin.
It doesn't matter if your hymen breaks, it
might never break, but you are no longer
an virgin and neither was your friend,
even before her operation.
Penis in vagina = not a virgin. The hymen
doesn't matter.
Also, you can most definately be pregnant,
and you need to go to the store after your
period and buy a test. If you miss your
period, test 4 weeks from when you had
sex.
Now that you have had unprotected sex,
your only options to prevent pregnancy
from the last encounter is to get the
morning after pill, also called plan b.
Before you have sex next, you need to go
buy some condoms at the minimum. Preferably,
you need to get a pap-smear and get on
birth control pills or the patch or an
iud.

Not positive, mind you, but I did hear
that.
Mine broke from riding/jumping horses, for
the record.
aya how do you know your hymen broke from
riding horses? Did you see the skin
comming off or is this an assumption
because you didn't bleed when you first
had sex? Just curious.
That's true there is elastic hymens out
there. I had a friend of mine who even had
2 girls and her hymen have never broken
doctor confirmed. Pretty wild huh

Some of it has to do with the shape of the
hymen. Some people have thick stretchy
ones, some people have thin breakable
ones. She probably knew because she bled
lightly in her underwear.
Other people have "strings", that's what I
had.
Some hymens, you will know once you hit
puberty and learn about your body, that it
is already broken, because it is ragged
and not tight.

As others have said, hymens are in no way
related to virginity. If your friend had
sex, she is not a virgin. If you had sex,
you are not virgin. Virginity is related
to sex, not to the state of a piece of
tissue that has nothing to do with sex.
In fact, that wouldn't even make sense to
define virginity by the state of the
hymen. Some women have really tough
hymens and can be pregnant with an intact
hymen! They're certainly not the
majority, but if there were a bunch of
pregnant virgins walking around, that
would probably make the news or warrant a
new chapter of the bible or something.
Most girls, however, break their hymen in
childhood. If hymens were related to
virginity, that would mean most kids
aren't virgins! That would mean most
girls lose their virginity before puberty!
Also, some girls are born without one.
Imagine being born not a virgin! That
wouldn't make sense. It would also mean
that boys are born non-virgins I guess
since they are always born without
hymens!
Go see your ob-gyn. Talk to her about
possibly being pregnant and about all of
your birth control options. At least use
condoms in the meantime.

Me! I was born without a hymen.
It certainly isn't the most common
situation but it definately happens.

because after we were through, I was
coming off my saddle and my riding
instructor told me I had blood on the seat
of my riding pants. I was only 11 or so at
the time and freaked out. My instructor
told me I had started my period and gave
me a pad to wear on the way home. But I
didn't bleed much the rest of that night,
and had absolutely none the next day.
I didn't start my period for another full
year. I broke my hymen that day.

hey girls, i just took the emergency pill,
before the end of the third day, it was
written that it should be taken in a while
of 5 days, oh! it was a really hard day, i
cannot buy this pill without a doctor
prescription here, that's why i ran to a
doctor in a 24 hours hospital, as it was
the weekend and all other doctors aren't
working, and there i waited for 6 hours
(Stressed, anxious, nervous, worried, sad
and angry) because there was only one
doctor for the whole hospital: she was
making operations - delivering babies
running rights and lefts.... Anyway after
the 6 hours of my time waste, she told me
that i had to be here earlier (I really
was going to blow her a bomb in her face)
but knowing that she's so tired too, i
overcomed my nervousity and i told her
about everything, so she told me that if
the ejaculation was outside so the risks
of being pregnant is so limited and the
pill has a very good effect when it's
taken in the first two days, but she added
that it's better than nothing anyway.
So i ran out the hospital to a pharmacy i
got the pill, took it.
And now i'm still worried...
Ah, she told me that i must have a test in
four weeks, even if i had my period, coz
the pill will make some unstability in the
hormones and i may bleed or something.
What a very bad experience, now i'm
getting to be afraid to make sex again.
this was my first time and i cannot sleep
since then.
Hey try to calm me down please, i just
tried to share my experience with you.
Good luck for you all.

In the future, make a new thread when you
have a new question for us. It makes it a
lot easier to see what is what, and you'll
usually get more replies.
You do not have to be afraid to have sex.
Many methods of birth control are just
under 100% effective, and you can often
use more than one method at a time.
Condoms are often a good choice because
they offer great STD and pregnancy
protection while being somewhat cheap and
easy to get.
You can also use many other methods as
well in addition to the condom. You can
talk to your ob-gyn about what your
options are. If you take/use your birth
control as intended there is very little
chance that you will get pregnant. Just
keep in mind that "the pull out method" is
not an effective method of birth control
on its own.
Good luck with your emergency pill. Don't
be afraid to call your doctor or
pharmacist if you have any questions about
it
