Ear Tubes And "popped" Ear
Posted: 02-15-07 19:20pm

I went to see an ent today regarding some troubles i've been having with my ears. They have been feeling full or muffled on and off for the last 2 or 3 months. After closer examination my doctor told me that the tympanic membrane showed negative pressure (meaning the membrane was angled back toward my inner ear instead balanced between my inner and outer ear) and that there is fluid in my inner ear causing hearing loss. He recommended that we try putting an ear tube in my right ear to see if it helped my situation. After he sucked out the fluid I noticed and immediate increase in my ability to hear out of my right ear. It is now about 3 hours after he put this tube in and my right ear has "popped" for about as long and I am unable to unpop it. Is this a normal side affect after the procedure? I'm concerned because I can't seem to unpop my ear.
