Lol put it this way I dont want to get to much stuff. When baby will only fit into half so is this a good idea? To stick with my newborn and 0-3 stuff and wait til baby 2months then get 3-6 months stuff and then wait till baby 5months and get 6-9 months stuff. I think you dont know what I mean cause I think if your from another country they use words differently lol. Laughing

When buying baby clothes it's a good idea to buy a little of everything. I wouldn't so much the 'newborn' size. But the 0-3 and the 3-6 buy a little here and there. Because if you have a larger baby then he or she may not be in the 0-3 very long...And the same for 3-6 months. You just kinda play it by ear. My daughter is 7 months old tomorrow and she is still in 3-6 month clothing. Yet her 3-6 month sleepers she is out of because she is too long for them. My cousin's baby is in 3-6 month clothing and he is 4 months old but he is out of the sleepers too. He is 3 months younger than melia and he is wearing the same sizes as her.

When is your baby due?

If due in the summer it's going to wear onsies most of the time so you will need a few of them. I would get 6-7 sleepers so that you can do laundry once a week. Then one or two outfits for when going out. Now if you have a baby shower you are going to get this stuff (normally)

if due in the winter then you should have a few more sleepers than onsies. Get on major jacket for the baby. Then get the baby a few out fits with long sleeves and paints.

I agree with what gen said. Don't buy more than 1 or 2 newborns things and for 0-3 maybe get about 8 onesies, 8 sleepers, 2-3 outfits.

You can't go by the size on the labels. Those are just guidelines but not all babies are built the same. My baby was 8 lbs 5 oz at birth and never fit in newborn stuff. By 6-8 weeks he was out of 0-3 months and into 3-6, now he's 3 1/2 months and he's almost out of 3-6 and into 6-9. All brands run differently too, there are 2 brands where he's practically out of their 6-9 months and another where he just fits.

But yeah, do it like you said just don't assume when they're 5 months you'll be going out to buy 6-9 month clothes. When they start fitting perfectly in their 0-3 stuff, go out and buy a few 3-6 month stuff. Just don't buy a ton because they grow so fast.

Oh and seperates fit a little longer than one piece outfits too. So sometimes you can swing them a little longer than one piece.

this is very true. My baby is 11 months old, and her 18 month clothes fit great if it's 2 piece, but the sleepers/1 piece outfits are too short.

Lol all the english girls will know what vests and grows are.

Vests are either sleeveless or short sleeved items like a under-tshirt

grows are onsies - usually with sleeves and legs Wink

Ummm..I'm .English and I had to guess at what she meant because I have never heard of 'vest and grows'. I obviously know what vests are and I know what a babygro is (a 'onesie') but i've never heard of 'vest and grows'.

Just thought i'd say! Mr.
