Question About Birth Control Pills Posted: 02-17-07 00:17am
I was wondering if it was ok to wait a
week in between ending my old birth
control pills (yasmin) and starting the
newer version of yasmin birth control
pills (yaz)?
I will not be sexually active at or around
this time. Will there be any major
consequence of doing this???
Thanks for your help!!!!!!

Well, when are you ending your old pills?
If you finish at the end of the pack, then
you should hve a week of placebo (sugar)
pills built right in, so just use that as
your break, and start up on the new yasmin
after that week is up!
If you pause in the middle of your old
pills, you may expereince cramping, and a
period, especially if you wait a full
week, and you will lose your protection;
so you may as well wait and finish up the
pack, use the placebo week as your break,
and start up yasmin then. That way, you
should be immediately protected; but check
the package for more information.
