Birth Control Mistake..help
Posted: 02-17-07 12:47pm

Okay, well i've been on several different birth control pills for about a year now, I am always forgetting atleast one pill a week, but I double up the next day. Well, two weeks ago, I missed one, had sex, and then the day before yesterday, I had missed three, so I took two that night, then two the next day , but yesterday I had sex too. I've been spotting since two weeks ago, and it's so light im really worried. My period is due tomorrow, I missed these pills on the 3rd week of my pack. Whats the likely-hood that this could result in pregnancy?

Thanks .

Spotting is normal whenever you miss pills!

You have one problem though!

Whenever you miss more than one pill, you need to use back-up for 7 full days for the bc pills to be effective again!

I have become pregnant on bc pills, and yes I did have an abortion.

Carifairy is right. Missing one pill is alright, but two or more means you should be using back-up protection. I once missed three pills near the end of the active pills, and I definately spotted! Then my period game and it was the longest and heaviest i've had in a long time, ever since an incident over the summer which turned all my periods lighter and only a day or two long... Then I had this last one, three-full-days of period and was like "whaaa?" lol.
