As I am sure you know, pvc stands for premature ventricular contraction. It works like this: the heart is usually paced (signaled to beat) by the sa node, which is a site in the right atrium. There are other sites in the heart, however, that can signal the heart to beat for a variety of reasons. When one of these sites takes over it is called an "irritable site." in a pvc, the beat "arises" in one of the ventricles and the beat occurs before the next beat would be expected based on the pulse rate. Pvc's are the most common dysrhythmia in healthy individuals. If the er team did a proper workup on you (including an ecg) and found no problems then you probably have nothing to worry about. When pvc's occur in the absence of any other condition they are not treated (unless you have severe symptoms along with them, such as decreased cardiac output). They can be caused by stress, exercise, anxiety, and a few other things. I sometimes have premature heartbeats that I suspect are pvc's, although I have never had an ecg to find out. They are much more evident when I have consumed some kind of stimulant, so I try to avoid stimulants most of the time. It sounds like you might be having some kind of panic attacks. Try to keep stress down and practice coping techniques. If this doesn't work, you migh be a candidate for some kind of pharmacological treatment. I hope this helps. Stay well.
I didnt write this someone posted that on a myspace forum and thought it sounded similar to what your going through , never heard of it until now.
