Hello everyone,
i have been on wellbutrin xl for over a
year now.
It has been doing a fairly good job until
I was switched over to the generic
prescription. Not by choice though you
have to love health insurance. The
generic totally threw me off. I was
paranoid, thought that no one cared about
me, I just wanted to crawl into a hole.I
went way off the deep end. I did not care
about a thing. They tried a new med for
me but all I did was sleep. I must have
slept 18 hours one day.
Did anyone else have this kind of reaction
with the change?
Also how many other people have raging
hormones due from this med?
I mean can I be the only one who thinks
like this all the time?
What is the max mg for wellbutrin?
I'm at 300
my doctor said for me to speak with a
shrink.
Is any one doing this & is it
working?
I do have to admit that I have to get a
lot off my chest.
So I hope this will work.
i was on lexapro before, i cant take
wellbutrin becauase ive had an eating
disorder. i never had any problems with
the meds but ive only ever been on that
one particular one and nothing else. id
say maybe they need to find a new med
thats covered that works better i wouldnt
continue taking that if it isnt helping at
all.

See if you can find a shrink who uses
cognitive therapy. You don't get to vent
as much as traditional therapy but you
learn exercises that help you get over
your anxiety and depression. Meds are
great for leveling you out but if you want
to get better and have more control over
your anxieties this is what I would
recommend. Learn to do the tea form
thought countering exercise and do them
everyday and you will start to feel better
and continue to make more improvement the
more you use them. If your health
insurance won't cover cognitive training
go to your library and read the book by
sam obitz on overcoming anxiety and
depression, it is an easy book and
outlinbes the tea form exercise pretty
well.

300 is about the max. I'm taking 10mg
Lexapro with 300mg Wellbutrin. I've had
depression (major depression, dysthymia)
since I was 12 and I'm 35 now. This
combination of meds is the best I have
found. Its not perfect, but it has the
best +/- ratio I have found so far.
Regarding therapy, I agree with the poster
above wholeheartedly. Don't waste your
time with psychoanalytic or psycho-dymanic
therapists. They'll let you talk for
years. Find someone who practices
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is
practical, rational, and oriented towards
problem solving.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
I hope you get answers here.
As far as I can understand, if that
medication isn't helping, maybe you
shouldn't have it...
And maybe further medical help would be
positive.
Feel free to come here whenver you wish
and to let all that out!
