This is my first post & most likely one of very many to come. I visit the forums on here quite often. And I must say, a lot of the girls on here seem really nice. Some awesome people who I hope to become friends with over time. Smile

i took my second pregnancy test tonight & it came back with two lines. [indicating a positive result]. However, the second line was very faint. Almost invisible in the dark, but it's definitely there when placed under light.

The first test I took was taken 4 days before my period's due date & it came back negative. The one I took tonight was the first day of my missed period [meaning my period should have arrived today & it did not]. And, this is the test with the faint positive.

My boyfriend & I are both 21-yr's of age. My name is amber & his name is brandon [bran for short].

This is my second pregnancy. Unfortunately, I aborted my first one when I was 18-yr's old. Please don't judge me. It was an extremely hard decision. [bran was not around at that time].

We were both here tonight when I took the test & he took it very well. He seems excited, but nervous. I'm in shock more than anything else. And worried that i'm getting my hopes up too high. I want this baby, but i'm nervous, too.

A faint positive is still a positive, right? And - is it still a bit too early for me to be releasing enough hcg to show a darker line?

In most cases, if the manufacturers instructions were followed properly, a faint line is a positive pregnancy test. Generally, any line that shows up is a result of hcg being detected in your urine.

So congrats on you good news.

2 lines is a positive no matter what. Congrats! If you're concerned though, wait a few more days & take another test. The line will be darker then & you'll feel a whole lot better! Wink

Congrats - if you clearly followed the directions, you seem to be pregnant.

My pregnancy tests at first all had the faintest of lines...Extremely faint to the point where I held it up under the light to see. I was obsessed!! With the pregnancy of my first child, I began taking tests a week before my period. Finally, I started to see a faint line. I actually took apart the pregnancy tests to see if I was seeing correctly - the clear plastic thing I felt impeded my vision (obsession and doubt). I took one to two tests a day as if the results would be considerably different with only an additional 12 or so hours. I did that a few more times until the line could clearly be seen without the plastic thing...Yes, I was clearly obsessed, didn't believe the results and was pretty much broke for that month after all the preg tests I bought. My husband was ready to cut me off, so I decided to get myself into the doctors for blood work and complete confirmation.

I would take the test again in a few days. I am sure it will be darker.

I can't wait to hear!!

haha. You sound like me. Bran & I just bought two more tests - for me to take tomorrow, in the morning, & a couple of days from now. As we were walking out I asked him if we should get another box of 2 tests. Just in case I get more faint positives.

Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to posting on this board.
