Post Operative Hernia Pain Posted: 02-20-07 17:51pm
Hi
From what I have read I have the same post
operation hernia pain as many others. My
main concern is that I have pain on the
opposite side of the repair - the pain is
very similiar to the symptoms of a hernia
but no bulge and significantly less pain
when coughing.
I am consulting the doctor about it in the
next few days. Some potential causes that
occur to me.
1. Bi-lateral hernia that just took some
time to express itself.
2. We are consciously busy compensating (
babying) the repaired side and pull
something on the good side. Similiar to
spraining your left ankle but continuing
to walk/work and putting way too much
stress on your right knee as a result of
overcompensation and an awkward gait.
Ultimately resulting in a sore right knee
for a few weeks. I say this from personal
experience.
For those knowledgeable of this and for
the people that have previously posted
please respond back and tell me what the
results were. If not a bi-lateral hernia
how long did the pain in the opposite side
last for??
