I have an Aunt whom is 41 years old, and
was diagnosed with esophageal cancer which
has spread to the lynphnodes. I have the
cord blood that I had stored from my
daughter that was born 5 months ago. Is
there anyway this could help her situation
if her blood type is compatible? I know
that the stem cells are effective for
cancer's of the blood, but am unsure if it
will help with this. I would feel terrible
if I could have done and it ended up being
too late. Please let me know...You can
reach me at
mandausn; unfortunately the answer is no.
Stemcell research is still is it's
infancy. As it has been found to help it
is still considered experimental. Most
doctors cannot use this type of treatment
because of FDA and CDC restrictions. She
will have to undergo the traditional
treatment.
