Ridiculous Vent, I Can't Sleep Posted: 02-21-07 01:42am
my throat is killing me! i feel like i'm
falling completely to pieces & i'm not
even that far into my pregnancy.
i drank tons of 100% prune juice tonight
to help fight these gas pains & to
help relieve the constipation. it wasn't
too bad. the constipation is still there,
but i'm releasing a lot of gas. sorry if
that's really gross.
it's 1:45 in the morning & i have to
be at work by 9:00 AM. i can't sleep b/c
of this sore throat. i think it's post
nasal drip? my right gland, on the
underside of my neck, is swollen. every
swallow burns & causes me to cough
like crazy. i'm miserable! to
sum it up in a single word.
my boyfriend won't answer his phone or
text me back. i'm trying not to get mad
about it b/c i'm sure he's passed out.
he's got college bright & early.
what do i do? i don't want to go on any
medications. personal fear b/c it's what
greatly influenced my past abortion. i
don't want to have to worry about
medications causing deformities this time
around. i'm sure the doctor would
prescribe something safe, but i'm
petrified to take my chances.
ouch. it hurts. sorry if i'm complaining
too much. i read somewhere that a pregnant
woman's nose secretes more mucus? has
anyone else dealt with sore throats? or
post-nasal drip? any suggestions? anything
i can safely do to alleviate some of the
pain?

If you continue to be constipated call
your doctor and ask him/her what type of
laxatives are safe to take during
pregnancy, I'm not sure about the sore
though except these cough drops that I
personally really like. I'm sick right now
actually, but they're call sucrets or
something like that, they're really good.
for real!!!
Other than that i dont know about a sore
throat, those cough drops are awesome
though but be careful because they kinda
numb your throat & tongue...and i
don't want you choking or anything haha.
But for real, go buy those and tell me
what you think! they helped me tons. =)

i will. i'll pick them up before work. oh,
and as for the constipation. talk about
"opening my mouth too soon." i just spent
15-minutes in the bathroom w/ diarrhea. i
guess that prune juice worked & hit me
all at once. i feel tons better. my belly
is no longer growling & bubbling.
now, if only i
could cure this sore throat. i'll try
those cough drops. and ask my gyno when i
call tomorrow.

Constipation is normal. I've had that
problem for my whole pregnancy. It has
been tons better in the past week or so.
Drink lots and lots of water and sure if
you can stand prune juice that works too.
UCK
My doc told me the I could take sudafed
but nothing else. I'm sure cough drops
are fine. Check with your OB to be sure.
