i just went to my regular doctor today, for this sore throat & cough. she prescribed me an albuterol inhaler since my chest is so tight. she also told me to use children's dimetapp cold & allergy. i double checked with the pharmacist before using it. he was a little sketchy about the dimetapp, but after calling my doctor to speak w/ her he added it onto my "bill." i finally got some much needed sleep.

but here's the real sticky situation. i called my ob/gyn. and they didn't set me up with an appointment b/c, my mother told me this, our insurance is running out come the end of february. the gyno's office said it wouldn't be worth the one visit, even though i argued w/ her that it would be. then she told me, even if i came in covered, since i don't have an insurance card i'd still be charged full price.

my mom keeps changing the time-frame when my insurance runs out. and, i have to listen to her b/c the last time i didn't & it did run out, even though i was never officially informed, i was nailed with some huge bills.

i have no idea what to do? no doctor will see me if i'm losing my insurance soon. and no charity care places will see me if i'm still covered. it's frustrating. stressful. all i want is to see a doctor.

bran tried calling a clinic that provides free-to-cheap services to the uninsured, but once they found out i'm temp. covered, they asked for me to provide an insurance card. when he explained to them that i don't have one nor will i be sent one, they said that b/c i am under some form of coverage, they have to charge me the entire fee. what the...!!

Crying or Very sad i'm beginning to think i can't do this.

I wouldn't tell the OB that your insurance was running out. Then if it does go apply for Medicaid. If you get approved I think it will pay back bills. You have to go to a doctor when your are pregnant. You just have to. No insurance isn't a good enough reason not to go. There must be a low cost place in your area.

Good luck, I'm glad you are feeling better
