Alternative Dentistry- Please Read! Posted: 02-22-07 13:27pm
Hey! My name is Logan and I am a Pharmacy
major at UNC-Chapel Hill. I am working on
a project for my English class that
entails joining a blog or forum and
talking about experiences that we have
with different social science issues. One
issue was that of homeopathy or holistic
medicine. I have read several forums and
blogs completely bashing the idea of
alternative forms of medication. I must
say that I completely disagree with the
idea that holistic medicine is not a valid
practice but unfortunately I believe a lot
of people in my field would disagree with
me.
The reason I believe in the idea of
alternative forms of medicine is because
of my dad. My father was diagnosed many
years ago with intestinal colitis and had
to quit his job and go through surgery to
remove the bad parts of his intestine.
However, the surgery was not enough to rid
him of all of the ailments and other
problems that his colitis had caused. He
heard about some of the new advancements
that dentistry was coming up with and how
several problems with your mouth could be
linked with other problems in your body. I
am not talking about how metals in your
mouth affect your body because it is now a
well known fact about how much trouble the
metals that were once used in your mouth
cause tons of problems. My dad decided to
look into it and went to a holistic
specialist about his mouth and they did a
few x-rays and tests and found pockets of
infection in his gum. He went in for
surgery to clear out these pockets of
infection and as a result his intestinal
symptoms began to get better.
I don't know all of the details about the
process but I have heard of how people
with migraine problems, stomach ailments,
and a wide array of other problems have
been helped by getting metals removed from
their mouths and infections that they were
not aware of. Like I said, I don't know
too much of the advancements in dentistry
but I just though I would share how my
father was helped by it when traditional
medicines didn't work. It just amazes me
how people will refuse to accept
acupuncture and chiropractors as "real"
forms of medicine when they show nothing
but signs of helping the people that use
them. Anyway, I would appreciate any
replies. Any experiences you had yourself
would be nice to so I could see what else
is out there that is helping people that
most people are unfamiliar with.
Regards,
Logan

Regarding Removing Metal Fillings Posted: 06-03-07 20:32pm
Yes, I had the metal fillings removed.
They are mercury composites and mercury is
a toxin. There are holistic dentists out
there. You can search for them.
I have taken many vitamins and herbs over
the years. I feel good. I have energy.
I work two part time jobs as well as on my
computer and as well as keeping a garden
and a home.
The principle is...give the body what it
needs and it knows what to do with it to
help take care of itself. Who teaches a
baby in the womb to grow? The body knows
how to create a body, it also knows how to
help heal IF given ENOUGH of the CORRECT
vitamins and minerals (some vitamins and
minerals are unusable by the body...not
all supplements are the same)

I am Shaiju Joseph from Tamil Nadu, India.
Tamil Nadu is well known for its Siddha
system of medicine, a system closely
related to Ayurveda. I have seen many
chronic cases of arthritis etc being cured
Ayurveda and Siddha physicians. People
here in the villages, especially people in
their 80s and 90s know herbs which can
cure a variety of ailments. In fact many
researchers from America and Europe come
over to India and study the local herbs
that are unique to India. For instance
neem tree can be found everywhere in
India. All parts of the neem tree have
medicinal value. Turmeric is another
example. Even tender coconut and plantain
are used in treating common ailments.
Plantain pith is helpful in siphoning out
accumulated toxins in the body.
Naturopathists here in India use a
technique called 'plantain bath'
exclusively for removing toxins from the
body. Ayurveda massage is another
speciality of India. The rejuvenating
effect of an oil massage is well known. I
can go on extolling the virtues of these
alternative systems.
