How Did You... Posted: 02-22-07 14:39pm
calm your worries about pregnancy?
i know it's mother's instinct to worry
about your children & protect them,
but every little thing makes me paranoid.
i am so worried about miscarrying or
having an unhealthy baby. i'm so worried
that i can't concentrate. even being told
"everything is fine, the baby is perfect,"
i'm still stressed out.
my boyfriend said, "perhaps it's mother's
intuition?" i seriously hope not. b/c if
this worrying is the indication of
something being wrong or something bad
happening, i honestly don't know what i
would do.
how did you get over your fears? i know
i'm over reacting.

You are not alone.
I think every woman has that initial fear
that something is wrong. I didn't start
being confident about my pregnancy until
she started moving.
And even then, if she didn't move, or I
hadn't noticed her moving, I'd panic!!
Then I'd gulp down a cold drink and not
move until I felt her!!
Just relax. Stress won't help!!!

We all worry. That is what mothers do.
Sarah is right, stress won't help
anything. I'm due on March 21 and I still
stress out. Think happy thoughts.
Eat right, take vitamins, and take good
care of yourself. That is what you can
do. When you get in to hear the heartbeat
and have an ultrasound you will feel
better.

Everyone worries and yet women have been
having babies since the begining of time.
You are not alone in anything you are,
could be, or will go through.
Your doctor, more than likely, has seen
his/her fair share of whatever can
possibly happen too. You just have to
trust that you are in good hands.
Besides, in the 'old' days women just
squatted down in a field and the only
really 'timing' they had on when a baby
was due was a round about estimate based
on months. They had no prenatal care and
never even got to hear their baby - and
yet somehow the human race still survived.
