I'm doing a course in hydrotherapy, the
kneipp theory and would like to know why
when you have vacoconstriction with
applications of cold you shouldn't use
cold applications on people with hpb. I
thought the vasocontricting would help
bring down the bp. Similarly, with a
steam bath they say people with lbp
shouldn't have them. I would of thought
that the hot steam would be helpful to the
lbp with vasodilation. I have got myself
so confused.
I would appreciate a reply as soon as
possible.
Thanking you in advance.

You definitely don't need to constrict the
blood vessels if they have high blood
pressure. That would just cause it to go
even higher. Not sure about that steam
bath though.
