unfortunatley no. the ones at the salon are the best! saramic ones, they are all really good, the more exspensive the bigger the plates. the bigger the plates the less time it takes to do ur hair (especially if its long) dont forget to use heat protectant and after finish to keep ur hair healthy looking, shiny and healthy! good luck!

the best ones are Chi's. walgreens has them but the are $100. no matter what though, make sure you only use ceramic, NOT metal. metal is terrible for your hair.

My daughter straightens her hair and she has a $30 ceramic one and it works good. She washes her hair the night before and straightens it in the morning. She says it comes out better this way. After she gets done straightening it she runs a dryer sheet over her hair so it isn't staticy.

She was blessed with curly hair and hates it. I was blessed with pin straight hair and hate it. Confused

Ummm it's one of those things you put in the dryer to prevent static. Bounce? Downy makes them.
It can't be something we only have in New England?????

a dryer sheet is fabric softener. i just give my hair a light spray with static guard (that stuff for clothes) and that keeps it from being static-y.

i *love* my chi, i couldn't live without it. i paid $100 for it and it's the best $100 i've ever spent. my hair is super thick and wavy/curly and the chi is amazing. i wash my hair at night and straighten it and sleeping on it seems to make it look the best.

a runway model trick small amount of lotion or hand cream rub hands together then rub thru hair in a down ward motion. sounds crazy but it does work.

I wouldn't mind my curls, but my hair is sooooo poofy. My friend introduced me to a straightener about 6 years ago. I worship her!
