Why Havent I Stopped Bleeding? Posted: 02-23-07 14:05pm
Hi if anyone can help me i would
appreciate it. Okay, well i started to
take Loestrn 24 for the first time and
instead of starting on sunday, i started
on a monday. I then took only about 4
pills in a row and then skipped 3 when i
went out of town. During that time i
started to bleed. I was confused as i had
never had any bleeding between periods and
so i called the nurse and she told me to
continue taking the pill so i did, but the
bleeding was quite heavy so i was scared
and called a couple of days later and a
diffrent nurse told me to stop taking them
completley and wait untill the bleeding
stops for me to get my real period after
my normal 28 days and then start a new
pack.
Ok i am fine with this. But its more then
two weeks now and i am still bleeding.
The bleeding is so random. One day it is
very light and brown and other days its
red, heavy and accompanied with cramps. I
dont understand why i am bleeding so much
and for so long since i only had a total
of 6 or 7 pills in my system. How long
should i expect the bleeding to continue??
and this may be too much info but last
night i douched with just water and all of
these little pieces came out that looked
like scabs or peeled skin. I called my
doctors again and they just kepts saying
"its normal its normal" Frankly i am
upset that i didnt know of all this from
the begining. I def. would have been
more cautious taking the pill.
So again i ask how long will all this
stupid blood keep comming out! UGH
thank you for your reponses!!

Actually, that is the answer to your
question. It is because you did not
complete a full cycle of birth control.
Hormonal birth control can seriously mess
with your cycle more so when you stop mid
cycle. You started putting a steady stream
of hormones into your body, then abruptly
stopped. Your body will take time to
bounce back from this. It is perfectly
normal (and inconvenient). When you start
your next cycle, you *may* still have some
slight break thru bleeding, but nothing
compared to what you are currently
experiencing. After two or three cycles
you body will be adjusted and you should
have no btb and lighter shorter periods.
You just need to give it some time.Sorry,
i'm sure your tired of hearing that.
