Wellbutrin Surge Then Taper...advice? Posted: 02-23-07 15:31pm
I've been on Wellbutrin for about three
weeks. The first three days were the best
I've felt in years. Clear headed,
energetic, more myself. It was wonderful.
Since then, however, the effects have
slowly decreased and I am currently only
marginally better than I was before
starting to take it.
Does anybody know the medical reason for
the surge then recession? Is it possible
for me to attain those results with
another drug or is it merely the reality
of ads and the body becoming used to them?
Any advice?
Thanks.

Usually, most doctors say it takes around
a full 6 months for everything to have
settled in permanently. You may have had
this surge because of your body adjusting,
and then went back down to only come back
up again, but slowly and with time.

You will most definately need more time to
adjust. 6 mos. is about right. What dose
are you on?

I'm pretty sensitive to meds, so I'm
taking half a pill (75 mg) in the am and
150 mg at lunch. I think the full 300 mg
would not allow me to sleep.
