My pediatrician has never told me to give
my son water and he's almost 1. She said
he gets enough of it in his formula, but
i've been giving him cow's milk for a
couple months now and often give him ice
water in his sippy cup. He don't really
like it that much either.
pediatricians sometimes recommend that you
give water once a day when your baby is
eating a lot of solids. only because once
they are on solids they can get
constipated. but dalicia is right, my ped.
also said that my son gets enough water
from his formula-formula's main component
is water.

I give melia a sippy cup after eating
solids because she normally won't eat a
good bottle after she eats. my pedi said
that she should have a bottle right after
she eats food. well she doesnt' take a
bottle that well so i give her a sippy
with a little water and she will suck on
it a little while but not too much.
so as long as he is getting enough formula
then i think it's fine to not give him
water.

Don't worry! It's not your fault he
doesn't like them. Some babies are much
more picky when it comes to their grub.
Adriana loved baby food when we started
her on solids. But now that she's been
introduced to table food, she won't touch
baby food. Not even the weird kind of
juice in the little plastic bottles.
