Morning After Pill
Posted: 02-25-07 04:27am

Hi, I was wondering if anyone anyone can tell me roughly when we ovulate. I know its different for most but i was just wondering...

My last period was on the 5th Feb. My boyfriend made me take the morning after pill on the 23rd Feb. We have sex every day (we're a new couple!) and we've continued to have unprotected sex after the 23rd..

For the last 3 days i've been feeling sick and light headed. Does the morning after pill do this?? I feel sick one minute and starving the minute!

My cycle is normally 30 days. I want to be pregnant! my boyfriend doesnt yet. Even though i know he'd be secretly happy if i was!!!

Anyway, if anyone could tell me my chances!

thanks

Well girl, you need to sit down with your partner because the morning after pill shouldnt be used as contraception! If you both decide that you want children then dont use protection but if you both dont want children you really need to start using protection. Also, your partner cant force you into doing something that you dont want to do!

He didnt force me angrily. I was using the pill for the last 3 months. I stopped because i kept forgetting and had periods every 2 or 3 weeks as a result of forgetting! we plan to use condoms. Just this month we havent. I've never used morning after pill before. Just this once.

I was just wondering my chances of it working this month not knowing when the ovulation time is..

I may be wrong but I always thought the morning after pill worked regardless of when you ovulate Confused As i said i could be wrong!

By the sounds of it your both not ready for children so please please please start using contraception immediately! If your partner doesnt want to use condoms then you will either have to stop having sex or using some other form of contraception other than the pill/condoms.

I hope im helping, i just want to make sure that you understand what you are doing. Bottom line is, if you dont want a baby you need to wear protection everytime you have sex and not just wait until next month.

I hope your not offended because i really didnt mean for that to happen!!

the morning after pill instructions say it will only work if youve had sex within the last 3 days..

Me and my boyfriend have spoken about pregnancy numerous times. He does want children, but he says in a couple months. 1 year ago I had a horrific miscarriage, since then i've been desperate to try again. I'm 26 now, i feel i'm getting old now!!! I know its not that old but being a mum is important to me!!!

You're right I know. Everyone is right! but i cant help the way i think and feel!!! it makes me sad when i get a period!!

Anyway, this is too much info for everyone!!! Thanks for your help auzzie lady!!! xxx

Hey, Im so sorry to hear that you have had a miscarriage!! That must have been horrible.

Im 24 years old and it seems that im exactly like you, I want a child more than anything and when there is things that are stopping it, it really does hurt. When I was younger I always thought I would have children and married by the time i was 23, well obviously 23 has gone and im not pregnant and broken up from my serious relationship. I know the feeling, it does make you panic and think, my body clock is coming to the end!!

Anytime you want to talk, let me know!

The morning after pill is meant to prevent ovulation.

Ovulation normally occurs 14 days before the end of your cycle.

The morning after pill is not proven effective in preventing implantation, so if you have already ovulated, you are out of luck.

It definatly depends on when you ovulate, as the morning after pill is useless once you ovulate.

I'm sorry to rain on this (and for your m/c last year) but if your partner doesn't want to try for a child yet to the point he's 'making' you take the map then maybe you should respect that. If he refuses to use protectiona nd you fell pregnant then that would be his own fault quite frankly but one should only try to conceive when both partners feel ready!
I'm not trying to osund harsh and I appreciate that you feel materal to such a strong degree

Try visiting the fpa, lots of info on the map etc...
